The success of ETG products lies in their ability to deliver multiple live strains of bacteria to contaminated substrates and wastes. These bacteria are effective in differing conditions and on various compounds. There are two types of live bacteria cultures: aerobic, which need oxygen, and facultative, which perform well without oxygen. Both types of culture quickly digest and liquefy organic waste, eliminating them and the problems they cause. They do this by producing enzymes. Enzymes are complex protein chemicals that bacterium produce to break complex compounds down to simple compounds. The bacterium based ETG products keep producing enzymes until the complex compounds are broken down, unlike purely enzyme based products which stop working once they are spent. Regular dosing is often needed, as established colonies of bacteria can be wiped out by cleaning systems such as heat and chemicals. Hence the need for dosage pumps to ensure the bacteria levels remain effective.
| Enzyme | Effective On |
| Protease | Proteins |
| Amylase | Starches and Carbohydrates |
| Lipase | Fats, greases and lipids |
| Esterase | Fatty Esters |
| Cellulase | Cellulose and simple sugars |
| Xylanase | Plant material, lignin |

ETG bacteria are non-pathogenic (they do not cause disease) and the products are non-acidic and non-alkali, making them environmentally safe in all systems. Regular use will establish thriving colonies of waste-digesting bacteria to provide continuous cleaning action in drains, plumbing, septic systems and waste disposal systems. Organic waste is converted into harmless water and carbon dioxide and once the bacterium have metabolised the compounds, they either become food for other species or degrade to simple biomass (carbon).

ETG identifies wastes and contaminates that can be broken down biologically. Using our proprietary Biological Growth Formula we then improve the effectiveness of those strains of bacterium which have been identified as best suited to the specific waste stream.
ETG speeds up processes that can take decades (oil contaminated soil remediation) by modifying the bloom-out of the bacterium essential to the breakdown of the troublesome compounds.
